This Day in Hip-Hop History

Today, September 16th, marks the day in 1988 that influential West Coast gangsta rapper, Eazy-E, released his Dr. Dre and DJ Yella produced debut album, “Eazy-Duz-It”. The album which was carried by classic singles, “Eazy-Duz-It”, “Eazy-Er Said Than Dunn”, and “We Want Eazy”, went double platinum and is considered a classic output for late 80’s West Coast gangsta rap. Also on this date three years ago, Nelly released his fifth studio album, “Brass Knuckles”, to be certified Gold and debut at number 3 on the Billboard 200. Lastly, we wish old school Emcee, T La Rock, a happy 50th birthday today.
