This Day in Hip-Hop History

Today, September 20th, marks the 6th anniversary of the release of “Hell’s Winter” by Cage. The album has been praised as one of his best, and being the first of any of his albums not to say the word “b*tch”. Rhapsody has also named it to their list of the “10 Best Albums by White Rappers”. Today also celebrates the 34th birthday of R&B Singer, The Dream, and the would-be 48th birthday of deceased producer, Paul C. Paul is best known for producing a large part of Eric B. & Rakim’s massive hit album, “Let the Rhythm Hit’ Em”, which is dedicated to his memory. Paul was shot to death in Rosedale, Queens at age 24. Pete Rock has named Paul C. as one of his influences in production.
