Today, September 24th, marks the day one year that Rehab by Lecrae and I Am the West by Ice Cube were released. Though christian rap has still not cracked the full mainstream scene, Lecrae has done everything he can. Rehab, his fourth effort, was nominated for a Grammy, has sold nearly 90,000 copies, debuted at #17 on the Billboard 200, and won Lecrae Album of the Year and Artist of the Year on Rapzilla.com. Ice Cube on the other hand, was voted Most Dissapointing Album and received very mixed reviews. It’s Ice Cube’s last to release to date and notably features his two songs, Doughboy and OMG, on a few tracks.
