1995 Classic by Gza (The Genius), "Liquid Swords"

Today, November 7, marks the 16th anniversary of Gza (the Genius) dropping one of the greatest rap albums ever with his sophmore effort, Liquid Swords. The kung-fu sample driven album is largely considered on of the greatest rap albums ever, being named to the top 100 by the Source and 13th greatest ever by Rolling Stone. Liquid Swords garnered commercial sucess too, being certified gold and peaking at #9 on the Billboard 200. That same day 16 years ago, Goodie Mob gave the hip-hop world a classic in a different region of the country, with their debut and southern classic, Soul Food. Soul Food ended up being certified gold within a year as well. Also, in more recent memory, today 9 years ago, Nelly released what would be his 3rd top 5 hit with the #3 Billboard charted single about my favorite shoes of all-time (I’m actually wearing a pair right now), “Air Force Ones”.
